Developing Story,

17 People dead when when Nitric Oxide cylinder exploded in Boksburg, Eastrand. Illegal miners known as Zama had set up a mining operation within an informal settlement in the area.
However due to luck of due diligence or professionalism in the field led to the death of very many people and others injured.

The Gauteng premier has already visited the area.

The illegal use of nitric oxide by miners poses severe dangers due to the lack of safety measures and regulatory oversight. Illegal miners often operate in unsafe conditions, with inadequate ventilation and protective equipment. Nitric oxide, being toxic and potentially explosive, can cause serious health issues and even fatalities when used without proper precautions. The absence of monitoring and control measures increases the risk of high concentrations of nitric oxide, leading to respiratory problems and lung damage. Additionally, the illegal nature of their activities means that these miners may lack the necessary training and knowledge to handle nitric oxide safely, further amplifying the hazards. The combination of toxicity, explosive properties, and the absence of safety protocols makes the use of nitric oxide by illegal miners extremely dangerous and potentially life-threatening.
